Choosing a capacitor is very easy.  Determine the voltage and the microfarad ratings.  Some are dual capacitors (two capacitors with different microfarad ratings in the same case) or just single capacitor.  The shape is only for mounting the capacitor.  You can install and oval capacitor to replace a round capacitor.  Here's a bit of information that is very useful for those DIYs.  You can replace a capacitor with a higher voltage rating.  You can go up never down in voltage.  Service technicians usually carry 440 volt capacitors to replace 370 volt, thus cutting the required van inventory in half.
